How buying works

Nothing is in stock. Every piece is made after you order it. Here is exactly what happens.

Temples (mandirs), carved by hand in Gujarat.

01

Choose, then order

Choose a piece, then its wood, finish and any extras. The price on the page changes as you choose, and it already includes freight, customs and Adelaide delivery. Not sure it fits? Send the size check first: the wall width, the ceiling height, and the tallest murti you want to stand inside it.

When you are ready, Place an order opens WhatsApp with your choices written out. We reply within a day with the final price and the next sailing date. Nothing is paid at this stage, and you are not committed to anything.

02

The deposit

30% deposit, refundable in full until the day carving starts. It holds your place in the workshop and buys the timber for your piece.

Until the day the first cut is made, one message from you ends the order and the deposit comes back whole. We write to you before carving starts, so you always know which day that is. Consumer guarantees apply throughout.

03

While it is being made

Four messages, each with photographs taken on the workshop floor in Ahmedabad. You watch your piece take shape.

Week 10 · 14 May

Sanded, before the finish

Assembled in bare wood. Your finish goes on next and is left to cure.

Week 12 · 28 May

Crated

Photographed whole on the floor, then crated for the sailing.

04

The price

One number, and it includes freight, customs and Adelaide delivery. Extras such as a warm LED, curtains or closing doors are priced on each piece's page and show in the total before you order.

The price on the page is indicative; we confirm it in writing before anything is made. There is nothing to pay on arrival — no customs charge, no delivery surcharge inside Adelaide, no fee for carrying it in.

05

Delivery

Two people bring your piece in and place it where you want it. Anywhere in Adelaide.

We call to agree a day and a window. Plinths and canopies travel separately and go together in the room. Tell us on the size check if there are stairs, a lift, or a narrow turn.
